About the producer
The Bassa Atesina it’s the southernmost and warmest cultivation area of Alto Adige, where the Kollerhof vineyards are located in Mazzon (or Mazon). Mazzon is considered one of the best and most acclaimed areas for the production of Pinot Noir, internationally regarded, along with the village of Montagna, as strongholds of Pinot Noir. Here, the Visintin family purchased an estate in 1966 and embarked on renovating the vineyards, reducing the vines per hectare with the aim, now successfully achieved, of enhancing the quality of their wines, particularly focusing on Pinot Noir.

They currently cultivate 6 hectares in Mazzon and Anterivo, situated at altitudes of about 500 and 1100 meters. In these locations, Herbert Visintin and his three sons have discovered the ideal combination of limestone and dolomite soil, western exposure, and a microclimate that perfectly complements his winemaking style. On the highest slopes, at 1100 meters, he has found the optimal conditions for growing Solaris, an early-ripening variety with excellent resistance against fungal diseases and frost.
