About the producer
Founded in the 1940s in Castiglione Tinella, nestled between Langa and Monferrato, Azienda Agricola Caudrina resides in the heart of the region renowned for its exquisite Moscato grapes. In the early days, Redento, the father of the current owner, sold the pressed must from his own grapes to local sparkling wine producers. The estate experienced a significant advancement in the late '70s when Redento's son, Romano, joined the business. Romano, leveraging the finest grapes from his top vineyards, independently crafted his version of Moscato wine. He bottled and sold it directly to consumers, marking a transformative phase for the winery. Today, Romano is supported by his tenacious and hardworking sons—Marco, Alessandro, Sergio—and his tireless wife, Bruna.

Together, they produce exceptional Moscato d'Asti, and the unique 'artisanal' Asti Spumante, both bottled in small batches for freshness. In the words of Ian d’Agata, "Caudrina confirms itself as one of the true benchmark wines of the denomination". In 1998, Romano acquired a Barbera vineyard on the prestigious Bricco Cremosina in Nizza Monferrato. A part of the harvest from this vineyard is fermented traditionally and bottled young, without wood aging, resulting in the Barbera d’Asti La Solista. The rest undergoes oak barrel aging, becoming their Nizza Docg Montevenere. Chardonnay, Dolcetto, and Nebbiolo are among their additional offerings. Always filled with innovative ideas, in 2015, Romano introduced "Lunatica," a delightful sparkling wine made from Albarossa grapes vinified in white. The family philosophy deeply values tradition, coupled with a strong openness to new technology, evident in their state-of-the-art cellar. All their wines embody extensive experience, notable advancements in winemaking, and a vigilant focus on their vineyards. La Caudrina has consistently been and remains today a producer of essential wine—clean and simple as it should be. This has earned credibility not only for the Dogliotti family but also for the appellation.
