About the producer
Founded in the 1920s by great-grandfather Bepi, Claudio Mariotto's family has upheld a longstanding tradition of winemaking in the Tortona hills of Piedmont for generations. Today, the winery is overseen by Claudio, in collaboration with his partner Rossana, his brother Marco, and his mother Piera. Spanning 700 hectares of land, with 50 hectares dedicated to vineyards, their estate is situated in the municipalities of Tortona and Sarezzano. Focused exclusively on native grape varieties such as Freisa, Croatina, and Barbera, their true passion and primary production center around Timorasso. Once teetering on the brink of extinction, Timorasso, a native Piedmontese varietal, is experiencing a resurgence in both plantings and popularity, thanks to dedicated producers like Claudio Mariotto.
